Wisconsin Badgers secure edge rusher Darin Graham, elevating 2027 recruiting class
The University of Wisconsin has added Mount Carmel High School’s Darin Graham to its roster, addressing a positional need at outside linebacker and shifting its national ranking.

The University of Wisconsin has added Darin Graham, a three-star edge rusher from Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, to its 2027 recruiting class. The commitment, announced on June 7, marks the 20th player to join the Badgers’ cohort, providing immediate depth at a position where the program had previously secured only one targeted recruit among its first 19 additions.
Graham, listed at 6-foot-5 and 224 pounds, was the fifth of six available targets from Wisconsin’s initial round of official visits to commit to the program. His decision follows a period of intense recruitment, during which he held offers from Mississippi, Purdue, Kansas State, Minnesota, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, and Oregon State. Mississippi and Purdue were identified as his top three choices before he selected Wisconsin.
The Badgers’ coaching staff has noted the strategic value of Graham’s physical profile. Standing 6-foot-5 but weighing 224 pounds, Graham is leaner than fellow edge recruit Isaac Miller, who is listed at 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds. The staff values this variation in body types, citing the need for positional versatility to address different tactical requirements depending on the opponent and game situation.
Graham’s commitment arrived shortly after that of receiver Steele Harris, who announced his decision approximately 30 minutes earlier on June 7. The dual additions have significantly impacted Wisconsin’s standing in national recruiting metrics. The team has moved to No. 13 overall in the 247sports rankings and fifth in the Big Ten conference. Rivals ranks the Badgers at No. 22 overall and ninth in the conference.
While 247sports and Rivals rate Graham as a three-star recruit, he has not yet been rated by ESPN. Graham joins a lineage of Mount Carmel High School alumni at Wisconsin, including junior running back Darrion Dupree. His commitment concludes a busy recruitment period for the Badgers, solidifying their early efforts in the 2027 cycle.
