Bellroy Laptop Caddy Review

WIRED reviewer Luke Larsen has published a review of the Bellroy Laptop Caddy within the publication’s “Bag Check” series, which focuses on everyday carry items. Larsen, who typically does not use laptop sleeves, adopted the 16-inch model as his daily carry after testing its capacity for multiple devices.

The sleeve features a large main compartment capable of accommodating 16-inch gaming laptops, with sufficient extra space to hold a second device such as a tablet or a smaller laptop. A 14-inch option is available for users requiring a smaller profile, though Larsen notes he has not personally tested the fit of this size in smaller bags.

The inner flap contains two large stretchy mesh pockets designed to hold power adapters, cables, phones, external SSDs, and earbuds. Two pen holders are situated between the interior pockets, suitable for styluses like the Apple Pencil. A large empty cavity is provided for notebooks, Kindles, or other accessories.

The device lacks a handle and is not designed as a standalone briefcase. Larsen carries it inside a Herschel laptop bag, where it fits with minimal clearance. He describes the sleeve as a highly functional organisational solution for carrying laptop gear, noting it is not superfluous.

Bellroy is an established brand known for leather goods and accessories. The review is based on a single reviewer’s experience and may not reflect the experience of users who commute or travel frequently for work.
