West Ham captain Bowen vows to stay despite United interest
Jarrod Bowen has declared his intention to remain at West Ham to help secure promotion back to the Premier League, even as Manchester United and other top clubs monitor his situation amid the club’s need to generate over £100 million.

West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen has publicly affirmed his commitment to the club, stating his desire to remain and assist in securing promotion back to the Premier League. This declaration comes amid reported interest from Manchester United, who are considering the 29-year-old as a versatile attacking option to bolster their squad under new manager Michael Carrick.
While West Ham wish to retain their captain, the club faces significant financial pressures following their relegation, potentially necessitating a sale to generate funds required by regulations. The Hammers must generate over £100 million to comply with rules, a move that has already seen them demand £80 million for midfielder Mateus Fernandes and place other key assets in the shop window.
Manchester United are finalising plans to overhaul their squad, with a priority revamp in midfield due to Casemiro’s departure and Manuel Ugarte being up for sale. United have struck a £38 million deal for Atalanta’s Ederson and are in talks for Fernandes, though the steep price tag may spark a bidding war they are unable to win.
United are also seeking defensive reinforcements, with El Hadji Malick Diouf identified as a potential left-back option to complement Luke Shaw. Additionally, the club is looking for a more experienced No. 9 to replace Joshua Zirkzee, with Bowen emerging as an unlikely but viable target due to his versatility across the frontline and his leadership qualities.
Other clubs interested in Bowen include Chelsea, Liverpool, and Newcastle United. However, the direction of travel from both the player and the club suggests he will remain at the London Stadium, despite the financial imperative that may eventually override these preferences.
