Washington Huskies add Texas prospect Sean Simon to 2028 recruiting class
The University of Washington football program has extended a scholarship offer to Sean Simon, a highly rated prospect from La Porte High School in Texas, as the Huskies look to bolster their backfield for the 2028 signing period.

The Washington Huskies football program has formally extended a scholarship offer to Sean Simon, a four-star running back prospect from La Porte High School in Texas. The announcement, made by Simon on social media on 5 May 2026, marks the latest development in the Huskies’ recruitment efforts for the 2028 class. Simon, who is ranked as the No. 5 running back in the nation by the 247Sports Composite, is also listed as the No. 62 overall prospect nationally.
Simon’s recruitment follows a statistically significant sophomore season in which he recorded 2,191 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns on 253 attempts, averaging 8.66 yards per carry. This production has attracted interest from major college programs across the country, bringing his total scholarship offers to 16. Other institutions showing interest include Florida, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas Tech, and Wisconsin.
The offer places Simon among six running backs from the 2028 class who have already received scholarships from Washington. Head coach Jedd Fisch and running backs coach Scottie Graham are currently managing a roster that includes one pledge at the position for the 2027 class, Jeremy Adeyanju. Additionally, freshmen Brian Bonner and Ansu Sanoe are expected to be in their third seasons by the time the 2028 class signs, potentially leading the unit.
Scouting assessments from analysts describe Simon as a 5-foot-10, 185-pound athlete nicknamed "F-150". Observers have noted his vision and patience, highlighting his ability to follow blocks to the edge before accelerating into the open field. His physical build and contact balance have drawn comparisons to former Washington star Jonah Coleman, who was recently drafted by the Denver Broncos.
Despite the offer, the timeline for commitment remains distant. With the 2028 signing day still ahead, roster compositions for the running back position may evolve. The Huskies’ coaching staff continues to evaluate the landscape, balancing current roster development against incoming talent from the 2028 class.
