US open post-World Cup phase with 4–1 win over Peru
Teenage debutants Justin Ellis and Julian Hall scored in Orlando as the US began a run of four exhibitions, according to Fox Sports.
The United States men’s national team beat Peru 4–1 in Orlando in its first match since the 2026 World Cup. Fox Sports reported that Malik Tillman and Sebastian, whose surname was not provided, also scored.
The match marked the start of a reported four-game exhibition schedule over the following week and a half. The US had been eliminated by Belgium in the World Cup round of 16.
Nineteen-year-old Justin Ellis opened the scoring less than four minutes in, heading in a Gio Reyna free kick, Fox Sports reported. Ellis plays for Orlando City, which made the venue his home ground.
Teenage debutant Julian Hall also scored, while Cavan Sullivan and Peyton Miller made their US debuts. Fox Sports described Sullivan, who was two days short of his 17th birthday, and 18-year-old Miller as part of a group of young players entering the national team set-up.
The victory begins a new phase for the team under coach Mauricio Pochettino, with the 2030 World Cup the longer-term destination described in the report.
