The University of Houston has secured a verbal commitment from 2027 safety prospect Tavon Bolden, selecting him over Arizona State. The decision follows an official visit to the campus, with the recruit indicating that the programme’s environment and relationships with coaching staff were the primary drivers of his choice.

Bolden, a standout from Atascocita High School in Humble, Texas, announced his selection shortly after concluding his visit. In statements reported by Rivals, he highlighted the team’s internal culture and the sense of community within the squad as key elements that influenced his decision to join the Cougars.

The recruit cited positive interactions with head coach Willie Fritz and defensive backs position coach PJ Hall as significant factors.
