Despite these historical strengths, the Gators enter the tournament in a challenging position following a recent downturn in form. The team has recorded five losses in their last 11 games and suffered a run-rule defeat by Alabama in the SEC Tournament semifinals, marking their first such exit in 14 years. Nevertheless, the squad retains significant credentials, holding victories over top-10 seeds Tennessee, Arkansas, Georgia, and Florida State.
The regional bracket presents specific matchups for the weekend, beginning with Game 1 between No. 2 Florida and Florida A&M scheduled for 11 a.m. on the SEC Network. The second match features No. 7 Texas State against Georgia Tech at 1.30 p.m. on ESPN+. Georgia Tech is visiting Gainesville for the third time in five years, while Florida A&M enters as the automatic qualifier from the SWAC.
