Union Berlin forward Chris Bedia completes move to Al Nasr SC
Al Nasr SC has officially signed 30-year-old Chris Bedia from the German Bundesliga club, ending a brief tenure in Berlin that began with a €2 million transfer in 2024.

Al Nasr SC has officially confirmed the signing of Chris Bedia from 1.FC Union Berlin, bringing the 30-year-old Ivorian forward to the United Arab Emirates’ first division. The announcement marks the conclusion of Bedia’s short-lived stint in the German capital, where he joined from Servette Geneva in 2024 for a reported fee of €2 million.
The attacker struggled to secure a regular starting role at Union Berlin, spending the previous 18 months on loan at Swiss club BSC Young Boys. The move to the UAE follows the expiration of the purchase option held by Young Boys, a contractual mechanism that allowed Bedia to depart Union Berlin without a new buy-in clause being triggered.
In a statement regarding the transfer, Bedia expressed gratitude for his time in Berlin despite the brevity of his stay. He cited the strong support received from the club as a positive factor, noting that the experience, though limited, was valuable. The player indicated that the decision to move was driven by a desire for stability and a clear role within a squad.
“I am grateful for my time at Union, because even though it was very short, I always felt a lot of support,” Bedia said. “After the last two years on loan, I am now looking forward to a permanent position where I can take on consistent responsibility again.”
The financial terms of the transfer to Al Nasr SC and the duration of Bedia’s contract have not been disclosed in the official announcement. The move represents a fresh start for the forward, who now seeks to establish himself in the UAE league after a period of transitional loans and limited playing time in the Bundesliga.
