UFC sets up White House South Lawn for Freedom 250 amid anniversary celebrations
The Ultimate Fighting Championship is transforming the executive residence grounds for a major promotional event, with capacity reserved for military personnel and public viewing areas established nearby.

Construction is well underway on the White House South Lawn for UFC Freedom 250, marking the first time the organisation has staged an event at the presidential residence. Recent imagery indicates significant structural progress, with crews erecting stands and installing a fabric roof featuring an American flag design over intersecting arches. This development follows initial photos from late May that showed only the basic framework of banners and lighting.
The temporary venue is designed to accommodate approximately 4,500 spectators. Of these seats, 1,000 are reserved specifically for military personnel, while the remaining capacity is allocated to guests of President Donald Trump and UFC CEO Dana White. The setup includes a traditional Octagon on a shaped platform equipped with LED panels displaying the Star Spangled Banner, flanked by two large screens mounted on the arch supports to broadcast the fights.
Scheduled for June 14, the event serves a dual commemorative purpose, celebrating the United States' 250th anniversary while coinciding with President Trump's 80th birthday. The broadcast will be exclusive to Paramount+, which holds the rights to all UFC numbered events and Fight Nights. The card itself is described as a truncated seven-fight schedule, headlined by a lightweight title unification bout between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje.
In addition to the main event, the card features an interim heavyweight title fight between Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane. Other notable competitors confirmed for the night include Sean O'Malley, Josh Hokit, Michael Chandler, and Derrick Lewis. The promotional push for the event has included online renderings of the venue, highlighting the integration of national symbolism into the fighting arena's visual identity.
To accommodate the broader public interest, a separate Fan Fest will be held at The Ellipse Park. This area will host up to 85,000 fans for free viewing on large screens. The festivities will begin two days prior to the main event, with a two-day Fan Fest at The Ellipse on June 12 and 13, featuring a concert headlined by the Zac Brown Band.
