Carr, a four-time Pro Bowler who spent a decade in the National Football League with the Oakland and Las Vegas Raiders as well as the New Orleans Saints, is not a UCLA alumnus. He attended Fresno State before beginning his professional career. The move follows a visit Carr made to the UCLA football program earlier in the year.
The connection between Carr and the UCLA administration is rooted in the background of general manager Darrick Yray, who was part of the Fresno State coaching staff during Carr’s tenure with the Bulldogs.
