Twins snap seven-game losing streak to White Sox with 11-inning victory
Joe Ryan delivers season-best outing while Taylor Rogers and Yoendrys Gómez close out the contest in Chicago.

The Minnesota Twins have ended a seven-game losing streak against the Chicago White Sox, securing a 5-3 victory in an 11-inning contest on Tuesday night. The win, which concluded with a bases-loaded double by Brooks Lee, improved the Twins’ record to 4-1 on their current 10-game road trip and marked their seventh win in nine games overall. The previous victory over Chicago occurred on 22 August 2025.
Lee’s decisive hit came in the bottom of the 11th inning, clearing the bases on the third pitch he saw to break a tie. The inning began with a single from Luke Keaschall, followed by a walk from Byron Buxton that was secured after an Automatic Ball-Strike challenge. The Twins had nearly taken the lead in the 10th inning when Orlando Arcia hit a two-out single, but he was thrown out at home plate by catcher Rikuu Nishida, preserving the deadlock.
Joe Ryan delivered a standout performance on the mound, pitching 7 2/3 innings and tying a season high with nine strikeouts. Ryan allowed five hits and issued no walks, marking his longest outing of the season. He was working toward a shutout until Munetaka Murakami hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning to tie the score. The Twins remained hitless until the fourth inning, when Trevor Larnach opened with a double, Clemens scored on a stand-up triple, and Austin Martin drove in Clemens with a line-drive single.
On the losing side, Sean Burke allowed two runs over seven innings, striking out eight batters while walking two. Tyler Davis took the loss in relief, contributing to the White Sox’s inability to secure the win. The Twins’ bullpen held firm in the final two innings, with Taylor Rogers earning the win after a scoreless 10th inning and Yoendrys Gómez recording his third save of the season in the 11th.
Looking ahead to the third game of the series, White Sox right-handed pitcher David Sandlin is scheduled to make his major league debut. He will face Twins left-hander Connor Prielipp, who holds a 1-2 record with a 4.03 earned run average. Sandlin will be the 10th player to make his major league debut for the White Sox this season.
