TurboTax has introduced a suite of limited-time promotional offers for the 2026 tax season, targeting both individual and small business filers. The campaign includes a 10 per cent discount on Full Service and Live Assisted plans, alongside a referral program where existing users can earn up to $500 in e-gift cards by inviting new customers.
Under the new pricing structure, a 10 per cent discount is available on TurboTax Full Service and Live Assisted plans for federal filings involving W-2 and 1040 forms. State returns are subject to additional fees. The platform notes that prices tend to increase as tax season progresses, making early filing financially advantageous for those seeking the lowest rates of the season.
Small business owners filing via TurboTax receive a 20 per cent discount on one 2025 personal federal tax return, plus 10 per cent off Business Expert Full Service and Expert Assist. These savings apply to federal products only, with the service designed to match business owners with tax experts who understand their specific industry to maximise deductions.
Users can earn up to $500 in e-gift cards by sharing referral links; new customers using these links receive 20 per cent off federal products. Rewards are issued within 45 days of the friend's purchase. Friends can receive the 20 per cent discount on the preparation and filing of federal tax returns or business federal tax returns through TurboTax Online or TurboTax Live products until 31 October.
The TurboTax Free Edition remains available for approximately 37 per cent of taxpayers with simple Form 1040 returns, offering $0 filing fees for both federal and state taxes. Qualifying individuals must have simple returns without most schedules, though exceptions apply for the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Student Loan Interest, and Schedule 1-A.
Military members are eligible for free federal and state tax filing as a thank-you benefit, subject to specific limitations on schedules. Additionally, TurboTax offers a Maximum Refund Guarantee, promising to refund the purchase price if another method yields a larger refund or lower tax liability. The platform also features Intuit Assist, an AI-powered tool available to answer tax questions and autofill information from uploaded documents.
