Defending champions Longhorns face Red Raiders in best-of-three series in Oklahoma City

The 2026 Women’s College World Series finals have been set, with defending champion Texas set to face Texas Tech in a best-of-three series. The championship matches will take place in Oklahoma City, renewing a rivalry that saw the two institutions meet in the previous year’s final.

Both teams reached the final stage via the losers’ bracket, overcoming significant obstacles to secure their spots. Texas avenged its opening-round defeat to Tennessee by winning two games against the Lady Vols. Texas Tech also advanced through the bracket, defeating top-seeded Alabama in a two-game sweep.

NiJaree Canady was instrumental in Texas Tech’s path to the finals, earning the win in both of their victories against Alabama. The Red Raiders are now in their second appearance at the Women’s College World Series and are seeking their first national title.

Texas, meanwhile, is aiming for its second trophy after making the finals for the fourth time in five years. The Longhorns’ journey to the final included a crucial turnaround after their initial loss to Tennessee, demonstrating resilience in the tournament’s elimination rounds.

Game 1 of the finals is scheduled for Wednesday. Broadcast coverage will be available on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC. Fans can also stream the games via the ESPN app or fubo, which offers a free trial for new subscribers. There are no Women’s College World Series games scheduled for Tuesday.
