T-Mobile sets US$5 monthly fee for Apple’s iPhone Handoff
Apple’s iPhone Handoff will launch with iOS 27 on 14 September, initially allowing selected users to switch one eSIM number between two iPhones.
T-Mobile will charge US subscribers an additional US$5 a month to use Apple’s iPhone Handoff feature, according to reporting by Engadget.
The feature is scheduled to launch with iOS 27 on 14 September 2026. It will initially be available to T-Mobile customers in the US and Deutsche Telekom users in Germany.
iPhone Handoff is intended to let users switch one eSIM number between two iPhones, with only one device active at a time. Calls, voicemail, messages and Find My are intended to move to the active handset, while iCloud data and third-party apps sync across both devices.
Both iPhones must run iOS 27 and use the same Apple ID. Users can switch between the devices, with the active handset displaying a confirmation message.
