Star Wars Zero Company set for August 27 release across PC and consoles
Electronic Arts publisher sets $70 price point for Standard Edition as developers reveal gameplay trailer featuring Anakin Skywalker cameo at Summer Game Fest 2026.

Electronic Arts, Respawn Entertainment, and Bit Reactor have confirmed that the co-op tactical shooter Star Wars Zero Company will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 27. The announcement was made during Summer Game Fest 2026, where the developers unveiled a new gameplay trailer showcasing the title’s mechanics and narrative elements.
Originally announced in 2022 as a co-development project between Respawn Entertainment and Bit Reactor, the game is set during the twilight of the Clone Wars. Bit Reactor was founded by Greg Foertsch, senior art director on XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2, and includes former Firaxis Games employees. The studio’s background has drawn comparisons to the XCOM series, a similarity evident in the game’s initial announcement trailer released in April.
The narrative follows former Republic officer Hawks, who must recruit allies across the galaxy to form teams and hunt Kundri Fathom, the leader of a Dark Side cult. Players operate from a base known as the Den, where they form teams and dispatch groups of friends, referred to as Operators, to various locations. The game was developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games to ensure an authentic Star Wars story.
A key feature revealed in the new trailer is a cameo appearance by Anakin Skywalker, depicted as a Jedi General during the Clone Wars. Foertsch stated that the team worked hand-in-hand with Lucasfilm Games to create an authentic story packed with unique characters, robust customization, and new elements rooted in the Clone Wars conflict.
Preorders are now available for the Standard Edition at $70. A Deluxe Edition is also offered, which includes cosmetic packs, five painted weapon themes, and the Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack featuring an R3 droid. The title joins a busy summer release window, with other developers such as Playtonic Games and Metanet Software also announcing new projects during recent industry showcases.
