SRH defeat RCB by 55 runs as Hussain claims Kohli wicket
Young pacer Sakib Hussain dismisses Virat Kohli as SRH post 255/4; RCB finish top of table despite loss

Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a dominant 55-run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League 2026, posting a formidable total of 255 for 4. The win was anchored by a potent batting display, with Ishan Kishan top-scoring on 79, supported by half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma (56) and Heinrich Klaasen (51).
The innings was characterised by aggressive strokeplay, with the team hitting 20 fours and 16 sixes. Abhishek Sharma provided a rapid start with 56 off 22 balls, attacking Bhuvneshwar Kumar from the outset, while Heinrich Klaasen dominated Josh Hazlewood, scoring 51 off just 24 deliveries.
In response, Royal Challengers Bengaluru struggled to contain the pressure and were bowled out for 200 for 4. Rajat Patidar scored 56 and Krunal Pandya remained unbeaten on 41, but the chase became unrealistic after early wickets fell. Virat Kohli, who scored 15 runs, was dismissed by 21-year-old Sunrisers pacer Sakib Hussain.
Hussain, who has taken 15 wickets in 10 matches this season, described the dismissal of Kohli as a dream moment. The young bowler, who has taken at least one wicket in every game of the tournament, told broadcasters, “Maza toh aya (It was joy for me). Virat Kohli's wicket was a dream wicket for me.”
Despite the defeat, Royal Challengers Bengaluru finished at the top of the league table, while Sunrisers Hyderabad ended in third place. Both teams finished with the same number of points, with RCB securing the top spot after targeting the 166-run mark needed to guarantee a top-two finish.
