The San Antonio Spurs have seized control of the Western Conference Semifinals, leading the Minnesota Timberwolves 62-37 at halftime during Game 6 on May 15, 2026. The victory at Target Center in Minneapolis places the Spurs on the brink of eliminating their opponents, as they hold a 3-2 advantage in the series.

San Antonio’s efficiency was starkly different from Minnesota’s struggles. The Spurs shot 63 per cent from the field, converting 22 of 35 attempts, while the Timberwolves managed just 36 per cent accuracy from 14 of 39 shots. The disparity was further highlighted by turnover counts, with Minnesota committing 23 turnovers compared to San Antonio’s six.

Scottie Castle was the leading scorer for the Spurs, contributing 17 points on efficient 6-of-8 shooting from the field. De'Aaron Fox added 11 points, including key free throws in the second quarter, while Rudy Gobert struggled offensively with zero points for Minnesota, though he did secure 13 rebounds. Naz Reid led the Timberwolves with 13 points.

The Spurs also dominated the glass, recording 33 rebounds to Minnesota’s nine. ESPN Analytics indicated a 97.3 per cent win probability for San Antonio with just over five minutes remaining in the second quarter. The game was officiated by referees Brian Forte, James Capers, Josh Tiven, and Justin Van Duyne.

San Antonio finished the regular season with a 62-20 record, significantly outperforming the Timberwolves, who ended with a 49-33 record. If the Spurs secure the win in the second half, they will advance to the Western Conference Finals.
