Thunder vs. Spurs odds, prediction: 2026 NBA Western Conference finals picks, Game 6 best bets from top model
Projection simulates 10,000 iterations of Western Conference Finals matchup

The San Antonio Spurs host the Oklahoma City Thunder for Game 6 of the 2026 NBA Western Conference Finals on Thursday night, with tip-off scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET at the Frost Bank Center. Oklahoma City currently holds a 3-2 series advantage following a 127-114 victory in Game 5, positioning the defending champions to potentially clinch their second consecutive title. The Spurs, who won the Southwest Division, aim to force a decisive Game 7 in their first Finals appearance since the 2013-14 season.

Injury reports indicate that Thunder guard Jalen Williams is listed as questionable for the contest due to a hamstring injury, while Ajay Mitchell remains out with a calf injury. The absence of key rotation players in Game 5 allowed role players to step up for Oklahoma City, contributing to their series lead. The Thunder, who finished the regular season with a 64-18 record and claimed the Northwest Division title, face a Spurs squad that posted a 62-20 record and won the regular-season series 4-1.

Market sentiment has shifted in San Antonio’s favour, with the Spurs listed as 3.5-point favourites in the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook. The total points over/under for the game is set at 219.5. Historically, the Over has recorded a 4-1 record in this specific series, though the Spurs have played to the Under 57 per cent of the time at home this season and 52 per cent of the time following a day off.

SportsLine’s Projection Model, which simulates every NBA game 10,000 times, has released its best bets for the matchup, projecting an Under on the total points. The model claims to have returned over $10,000 in betting profit for $100 players on top-rated picks over the past eight-plus seasons and is currently on a 26-10 roll, representing a 72 per cent hit rate on top-rated NBA spread picks this season.

The model forecasts a lower-scoring affair, with the Under hitting in 60.6 per cent of its simulations for this matchup. Projections indicate that only three Thunder players will score 13 points or more, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s estimated 30.1 points. For the Spurs, Victor Wembanyama is projected to lead the team with 27 points, with just three players forecast to reach the 15-point mark.

Gilgeous-Alexander has averaged 26.2 points over the five games played so far but has shot below 50 per cent from the field in three consecutive games for the first time all season. The matchup centres on his performance against San Antonio’s defensive schemes, which have utilised aggressive tactics and rotated primary defenders to slow the Thunder’s offence.

Historical data suggests a strong trend for Oklahoma City in this scenario, having won six of their previous seven Game 5 victories in tied series. Conversely, San Antonio has won only one of nine previous Game 5 losses in tied series. The New York Knicks have already clinched their first NBA Finals appearance since 1973, setting the stage for the winner of this Western Conference series to advance to the championship round.
