SportsLine model favours Eagles and Jaguars in NFL Week 1 forecasts
The computer model projects Jacksonville and Philadelphia to cover their opening-week spreads, while also favouring the over in Jaguars-Cleveland.
SportsLine’s computer model has favoured the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles against the spread in its forecasts for 2026 NFL Week 1, according to CBS Sports.
The model projects Jacksonville to cover a 7.5-point spread against Cleveland and Philadelphia to cover a 5.5-point spread against Washington. It also forecasts the over in the Jaguars-Cleveland game.
SportsLine simulates each NFL game 10,000 times. Jacksonville is projected to cover in nearly 60 per cent of simulations, while the over in its game against Cleveland hits in 64 per cent.
The forecast draws on Jacksonville’s reported 12–5 against-the-spread record in the 2025 regular season, including coverage in 78 per cent of home games. Cleveland went 2–6 against the spread on the road, according to the CBS Sports report.
Philadelphia is also projected to cover in nearly 60 per cent of simulations and is rated an A pick by the model. The report notes the Eagles have won eight of their last nine games against Washington when Jalen Hurts started and finished.
The selections are forecasts rather than established results, and betting lines may change before kick-off.
