Magliocca notes that Singer has improved slightly in recent outings, allowing just one home run in three June starts, but remains a primary target for value betting in Cincinnati’s favourable hitting conditions.
The analysis identifies a specific weakness against left-handed batters, who have hit 11 home runs off Singer with a .324 batting average. Singer relies heavily on a sinker and slider against lefties, pitches that have yielded an expected slugging percentage of .432 and .458, respectively. Seven of the left-handed home runs allowed this season have come off these two offerings.
Magliocca’s primary recommendation is Milwaukee Brewers infielder Brice Turang, who is currently hitting at career highs for barrel rate and hard-hit rate. Turang is on pace to exceed 20 home runs for the first time, and the current odds of +483 are considered to show value. Magliocca is also considering a hits, runs, and RBI prop for Turang, noting his proficiency against Singer’s main pitch types from right-handed batters.
Other Brewers players highlighted include Jake Bauers, who has hit 11 home runs against right-handed pitchers and Singer’s primary offerings, and Chourio, who is projected to perform well against the Reds starter and a potentially overworked bullpen. Magliocca also mentions Texas Rangers outfielder Kyle Stowers, whose value depends on the availability of Rangers pitcher Kumar Rocker, as the team is currently using a left-handed opener to neutralise left-handed power.
