Sony shifts PlayStation Plus Game Catalog strategy with staggered June rollout
The Japanese tech giant is altering its distribution model for the subscription service, offering immediate access to PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers outside the US, UK, and Japan, while delaying titles in those regions until late June.

Sony is implementing a modified distribution strategy for the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in June, moving away from a single monthly drop in favour of a gradual rollout for specific regions. Following the recent addition of a Destiny 2 collection, the company confirmed that subscribers in the US, UK, and Japan will receive new titles incrementally throughout the month. Conversely, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers in other territories will receive the primary batch of additions simultaneously on June 16.
The headline addition for the month is Final Fantasy 16, which will become available to all markets on June 16. As the first mainline entry in the franchise to utilise real-time combat, the title marks a significant departure from the series' traditional turn-based mechanics. For players preferring the classic formula, Sony noted that Final Fantasy Resonance, an HD-2D title, is scheduled for release on PC and consoles on October 22.
In the US, UK, and Japan, the rollout continues with Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Life is Strange: Double Exposure arriving on June 23. Kingdom Come: Deliverance, a large-scale open-world RPG available on PS4 and PS5, recently joined Xbox Game Pass. It will be followed on June 30 by Farming Simulator 25, Blades of Fire, and Black Desert, all of which are PS5 titles.
Prior to the main batch in non-restricted regions, Sony is offering early access to select titles. Starting June 11, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers in the US and UK can access Sonic X Shadow Generations. The release includes a remastered version of the original Sonic Generations and is available on both PS4 and PS5.
Additionally, Gitaroo Man, a rhythm game originally released for the PlayStation 2, will be available to Premium members globally on June 16. The title is being added in PS4 and PS5 formats, further diversifying the catalog offerings for the highest tier of subscribers ahead of the broader June expansion.
