Sonos Roam 2 portable speaker hits record low for Memorial Day
The Sonos Roam 2 is available for $134 across major US retailers, marking the lowest price to date for the compact, water-resistant audio device.

Sonos has initiated a price reduction for its Roam 2 portable Bluetooth speaker, bringing the cost down to $134 for Memorial Day. The discount represents a 25 per cent reduction, or $45 off the standard retail price, and is currently active at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. This promotion matches the device’s lowest price to date, positioning the second-generation model as a competitive option in the portable audio market ahead of the summer season.
The Roam 2 distinguishes itself from its predecessor through improved connectivity and ease of use. Unlike the original model, which required an initial Wi-Fi setup via the Sonos app before any audio playback could occur, the newer version allows for immediate Bluetooth pairing. A dedicated pairing button on the rear of the device replaces the multi-use button found on the first generation, streamlining the connection process for users switching between various Bluetooth sources.
In terms of physical specifications, the speaker remains lightweight and compact, standing 6.61 inches tall and comparable in size to a small water bottle. It retains an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for outdoor environments such as hiking trails or poolside gatherings. The unit offers 10 hours of battery life on a single charge, providing sufficient endurance for extended afternoon use.
Audio performance relies on Sonos’s Trueplay technology, which automatically adjusts sound output to fit the surrounding environment. While the device’s small form factor limits the depth of bass compared to larger dedicated party speakers, it delivers clear audio quality. Users can pair two Roam 2 units over Wi-Fi to create a stereo soundstage, or stream Bluetooth audio from the speaker to other devices within the Sonos ecosystem.
The current discount coincides with a broader focus on portable audio solutions for outdoor activities. While the Roam 2 does not offer the rich bass response of larger Sonos products like the Move 2 or the in-home Era 100, its combination of durability, simplified setup, and current pricing makes it a notable entry in the mid-range portable speaker segment.
