Indie sci-fi title sees price hike post-launch; existing owners receive free update

Developer Soft Rains has officially announced that Act Two of the indie sci-fi title Ambrosia Sky will launch on Steam on August 6. The confirmation was made during the Story-Rich Showcase at the Summer Game Fest, marking the final chapter for the game’s narrative.

The update will be provided as a free download for players who already own Act One. For new customers, the full game comprising both acts is available for $12 until the release date. Following the launch, the price for the complete package will increase to $25. The introductory pricing is described as a limited-time offer.

Ambrosia Sky is described as a sci-fi "clean-'em-up" set on an outpost on Saturn’s rings. The story follows Dalia, a death cleaner investigating an unknown contamination event that wiped out the local colony. The narrative explores themes of human immortality research as Dalia collects DNA and lays the dead to rest.

Act Two continues Dalia’s investigation into the disaster consuming The Cluster and her search for her ex-girlfriend, Maeve. According to Soft Rains, the final act resolves major plot threads from the first chapter while introducing new mission locations and fresh exo-fungus types for players to harvest.

The developers also noted that the update features a reworked progression system with additional upgrades. This structural change aims to expand the survival mechanics established in the initial release, providing a more refined experience as the story reaches its conclusion.
