Softball coaches name All-Skyland Conference teams
League honours distributed across four divisions with division champions identified

Skyland Conference softball coaches have formally announced their 2026 All-Conference selections, concluding a review of the league’s competitive landscape across its four divisions. The announcements were made during a meeting held on Wednesday at Bound Brook High School, where coaches finalised the rosters for the upcoming season cycle.

The selection process resulted in first and second-team honorees being named for all divisions. In a structural distinction, the coaches for the Raritan, Valley, and Mountain divisions also designated honourable mention players. The Delaware Division selections did not include an honourable mention category in this iteration.

Division champions were clearly identified within the honours list, reflecting the competitive hierarchy of the 2026 season. Watchung Hills claimed the Delaware Division title under the guidance of Coach Brian Figuereido. Hillsborough secured the Raritan Division championship with Coach Cheryl Iaione at the helm. Delaware Valley was named the Valley Division champion, led by Coach Asa Whitaker, while South Hunterdon took the Mountain Division crown under Coach Jim Smiegocki.

The Delaware Division roster featured significant representation from Bridgewater-Raritan and Hunterdon Central. Bridgewater-Raritan honours included senior third baseman Briana Cacchio, sophomore shortstop Amanda Ciser, junior second baseman Jess Pastorick, and freshman outfielder Reese Paxson. Hunterdon Central contributed senior first baseman Madison Apgar, senior first baseman Isabella Icangelo, and junior outfielder Julianna Richards. North Hunterdon’s senior right-handed pitcher Layla Francisco and Watchung Hills’ senior pitcher/shortstop Riley Bobrowski also received recognition.

In the Raritan Division, Phillipsburg sophomore catcher Olivia Buthmann-Sinoy was named to the team. The Valley Division saw a concentration of honours from Delaware Valley, including senior pitcher/outfielder Taylor Aycock, senior catcher/outfielder Brooklyn Liskowacki, senior catcher/outfielder Ally Moschberger, senior first baseman Lilly Rynearson, and sophomore shortstop Riley Liskowacki. Gill St. Bernard’s added senior shortstop Samantha Kalinak, senior catcher Ella Martinelli, and senior third baseman Isabella Mecca. The Mountain Division honours went to Montgomery senior third baseman Nicolette Shackelford, alongside South Hunterdon juniors Payton Polukord and Calin Gallagher, and freshman Brooklyn Hughes.

The Courier News and MyCentralJersey.com All-Area softball teams are scheduled for release in the coming weeks, following the conclusion of the broader state season. This delay allows for a comprehensive assessment of player performance across the entire regional competition, distinct from the conference-specific honours already distributed.
