Sky Sports and The Fast and the Curious announce new partnership
Long-term deal announced ahead of Dutch Grand Prix return

Sky Sports and The Fast and the Curious podcast have announced a long-term strategic partnership designed to enhance Formula 1 coverage and storytelling. The collaboration, confirmed ahead of the sport’s return to action at the Dutch Grand Prix, seeks to combine the podcast’s distinctive editorial voice with Sky Sports’ extensive F1 access and world-class broadcast capabilities.

The partnership aims to create cross-promotional opportunities, including collaborative social media posts and the integration of podcast content within Sky’s digital ecosystem. This move is intended to bring listeners closer to the action while leveraging the hosts’ ability to relate to everyday fans, thereby reaching new audiences and growing the sport’s fandom base.

Billy McGinty, Sky Sports director of F1, highlighted the commercial benefits of the deal, noting that the partnership offers something genuinely new for the broadcaster. He emphasised that hosts Greg James, Betty Glover, and Christian Hewgill possess a unique ability to connect with the general public, presenting a significant opportunity for both parties to expand their reach in a competitive media landscape.

Greg James, who leads The Fast and the Curious, described the agreement as a “large mid-season upgrade” that provides the podcast with a “Sky Sports power unit.” He stated that the partnership allows the show to build on its existing foundation while maintaining the inclusive, entertaining tone that has characterised the programme since its launch in 2023.

The Fast and the Curious has established a community focused on making Formula 1 accessible and inclusive, known for combining expert insight with humour and genuine curiosity. The podcast features F1 drivers as regular co-hosts, facilitating conversations ranging from technical insights to broader cultural discussions, such as Lewis Hamilton’s advocacy for LGBTQ+ inclusion in the sport.

The announcement coincides with the resumption of the Formula 1 season after the summer break. The Dutch Grand Prix Sprint weekend will be broadcast live on Sky Sports F1 from Friday, marking the first major event under the new strategic alignment between the broadcaster and the podcast.

Commercial terms of the long-term partnership were not disclosed, nor were the specific details regarding the frequency of cross-promotional activities. However, Sky Sports confirmed that every session of the Dutch Grand Prix Sprint weekend will be available live on its platform, streamable via NOW without a contract.
