Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 Leaks Suggest Minimal Upgrades Ahead of July Launch
Leaked details published by WinFuture and highlighted by 9to5Google point to a largely iterative update for Samsung’s upcoming flip phone, with the primary hardware changes limited to a new chip and faster charging speeds.
Leaked images and specifications for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8, published approximately one week prior to its official launch, suggest the device will retain the design of its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The upcoming model is reported to feature the Samsung Exynos 2600 processor, marking a shift from the Qualcomm Snapdragon chips used in previous iterations, alongside an upgrade to 45W wired charging. Key hardware specifications, including the 6.9-inch internal and 4.1-inch external displays, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of base storage, are expected to remain unchanged. New colour options for the device include pale pink, cream, and graphite. Samsung is scheduled to formally unveil the device at its Galaxy Unpacked event on 22 July 2026.
The leak source, WinFuture, shared the renders and technical details which were subsequently highlighted by 9to5Google. The images indicate that the Z Flip 8’s design is indistinguishable from the Z Flip 7, which was released last year and features the Exynos 2500 processor. The Exynos 2600 serves as the successor to that previous-generation chip. While some consumers may have anticipated a switch to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors, the leaked specifications confirm Samsung will continue with its in-house silicon for this iteration.
Hardware retention appears to be the defining characteristic of this release. The internal display remains a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED, and the external cover screen is a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED. Base storage and RAM are reportedly unchanged at 256GB and 12GB, respectively. The only other notable upgrade identified in the leak is support for 45W wired charging, a marginal improvement over the previous model’s capabilities.

A teaser for the film Spider-Man: Brand New Day recently showcased a flip phone matching the leaked Z Flip 8 design. This promotional material aligns with the renders from WinFuture, reinforcing the expectation that the retail product will mirror the current generation’s form factor. It is important to note that the reference to Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a promotional teaser and not an official product demonstration.
Despite the consistency in design and core specifications, uncertainties remain regarding the final execution of the device.
