Rutgers, Boston College seek response after opening-week defeats
The Week 2 meeting is scheduled for Friday at Alumni Stadium, with Rutgers quarterback Dylan Lonergan’s availability unresolved.

Rutgers is scheduled to travel to Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, on Friday, 11 September, to face Boston College in a Week 2 college football game. Kick-off is scheduled for 7.30 p.m., with the match to be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
Both teams enter the fixture after losing their opening games. Rutgers lost to UMass, while Boston College was defeated away by Cincinnati. Rutgers is coached by Greg Schiano and Boston College by Bill O’Brien.
The game will be played during Boston College’s Red Bandanna Game, which will mark the 25th anniversary of the 11 September attacks and honour former player Welles Crowther.
Rutgers quarterback Dylan Lonergan is due to return to his former school after transferring to the Scarlet Knights during the off-season. His availability remains unclear after an injury against UMass, with AJ Surace replacing him for Rutgers’ final drive.
Yahoo Sports reported that Rutgers was listed as a 3.5-point underdog by Vegas Insider. The ESPN2 broadcast is scheduled to feature Mike Monaco, Jordan Rodgers and Dana Boyle.
