Rodgers sees Steelers offence building towards his expectations
After a 30-27 win over Cincinnati, Aaron Rodgers says Pittsburgh’s offence is beginning to take shape under new coach Mike McCarthy and coordinator Brian Angelichio.
Aaron Rodgers says the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offence is getting closer to the way he expects it to operate, while cautioning that the unit is still building under head coach Mike McCarthy and offensive coordinator Brian Angelichio.
“You start from zero,” Rodgers said at practice on Tuesday, according to the Steelers’ team website. He described the win over Cincinnati as one decent performance and said the team would try to build on it.
The Steelers beat the Bengals 30-27 to move to 2-1. Rodgers passed for 292 yards and three touchdowns, while Jaylen Warren rushed for 127 yards.
The result followed a Week 2 loss to New England in which Pittsburgh scored three points, after opening the season with a win over Atlanta. Rodgers’ view that the offence is nearing its intended form remains an assessment, with the team seeking consistency across performances.
Pittsburgh’s next game is away against the Cleveland Browns.
