Former Chicago Cubs player Anthony Rizzo plans to attend Game 3 of the American League Division Series at Guaranteed Rate Field with his son and support the Chicago White Sox against the Cleveland Guardians.

Rizzo told WGN the White Sox were “an easy team to root for” and described them as “a band of brothers”. His remarks come as the teams meet in a series that has put the city’s two major league clubs on opposing sides.

The White Sox lead 2–0 and can advance with a win in Game 3. Rizzo’s attendance remains a stated plan; the report does not confirm that he went to the game.

Rizzo was a central figure on the Cubs team that won the 2016 World Series. His support for the South Side club sets aside the rivalry for the postseason, at least for the game he plans to attend.
