REI Unveils 2026 Outdoor Gear Lineup with Focus on Durability and Value
The retailer’s 2026 camping and hiking collection introduces the Westward 6 tent, an improved Westward Dreamer bed, and the lithium iron phosphate-powered Goal Zero Yeti 1500, alongside budget-friendly options for summer campers.
REI has released its 2026 line of camping and hiking gear, introducing new models and updates to established products. The retailer’s latest collection features the Westward 6 family tent, the updated Westward Dreamer self-inflating bed, the Siesta Hooded 20 sleeping bag, and the budget-oriented Campwell 30. The lineup also highlights accessories and gear from partner brands, including Yeti Roadie coolers, REI Sahara Shade sun hoodies, Goal Zero Yeti 1500 portable power stations, and the Rev 24 children’s bike.
The Westward 6 is a new family-friendly tent designed for three-season camping, featuring a cross-pole design that allows setup in approximately 10 minutes. It has a 77-inch peak height and sleeps two adults, three children, and one dog comfortably. The tent includes a large front vestibule for gear storage, mesh paneling for ventilation, and a central clip for hanging a lantern. A smaller variant, the Westward 4, is also available for smaller groups.
REI’s Westward Dreamer Self-Inflating Bed, formerly known as the REI Camp Dreamer XL, has been updated with a repair kit and an improved valve system. It is priced at $60 less than the Therm-a-Rest MondoKing, though it has a slightly lower R-value of 6.7 compared to the MondoKing’s 7. The bed comes with a duffel-bag-style stuff sack and an inflation sack that requires about four bags of air to reach a firm start.
For sleeping arrangements, the Siesta Hooded 20 features a double zipper system, allowing it to be used as a quilt or with increased airflow. Made of recycled polyester, it is rated for 20-degree Fahrenheit temperatures. For warmer conditions, the budget-friendly Campwell 30 can be unzipped completely to function as a double quilt, offering a compact option for summer camping.
The retailer also highlights the Yeti Roadie series, including the Roadie 60, 48, and 32, noting the utility of wheels for moving heavy loads over rough terrain. In the power sector, Goal Zero has released a new version of its Yeti 1500 portable power station, featuring a lithium iron phosphate battery with a claimed 4,000 charge cycles to 80 percent capacity and a 2,000-watt inverter.
Other notable updates include the Sahara Shade sun hoodie, which features redesigned thumbholes and a ponytail hole in the hood, using REI’s ShadeFactor50 fabric. For younger adventurers, the Rev 24 children’s bike is highlighted for its 2.6-inch tires and Shimano/Tektro components, designed for children aged 8 to 12.
