Following a brief period of rest and regrouping, the Reds capitalised on a potent offensive display and a strong pitching performance from Brady Singer to defeat a struggling Colorado side.

Steer launched a drive over the left-field wall, followed immediately by Suarez’s own home run in the same direction. Steer’s performance continued to escalate in the top of the eighth inning, when he hit a 421-foot shot to the deepest part of the outfield. The ball ricocheted off the wall, allowing Steer to round the bases for an inside-the-park home run, marking his second of the game.
Elly De La Cruz provided early support for the Reds’ offence, recording four hits in five at-bats. He opened the scoring in the top of the first inning and added a home run in the ninth to complete the offensive surge. Sal Stewart also contributed significantly, driving in two runs with a double to the left-field gap in the first inning.
Steer enters the trade deadline period with a .250 batting average, a .330 on-base percentage, and a .441 slugging percentage. His season statistics include 16 home runs and 40 runs batted in, alongside an OPS+ of 109 and a wRC+ of 108. Reports indicate that several major teams are seeking right-handed hitting outfield options, with Steer’s current form potentially increasing his value on the market.
The victory moves the Cincinnati Reds to a record of eight games under .500. The team will return to action on Saturday for a matinee game in Denver, scheduled for 3:10 PM ET.
