Red Wings edge IronPigs in 11-inning thriller at Coca-Cola Park
Christian Franklin’s early home run and Seth Shuman’s save secure victory in extra innings

The Rochester Red Wings secured a 7-6 victory over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in an 11-inning contest at Coca-Cola Park on Sunday, a result that improved their season record to 38-24. The decisive moment arrived in the top of the 11th inning when Brady House hit a line-drive double to right field, driving in Abimelec Ortiz for the go-ahead run.
House finished the game 4-for-6 with two RBIs and a stolen base, anchoring a 15-hit offensive attack for Rochester. Christian Franklin also played a pivotal role, homering in the first inning off IronPigs starter Drake Fellows and reaching base three times. Franklin’s solo home run was his fourth of the season and initially opened the scoring for the Red Wings.
Lehigh Valley responded in the bottom of the first with an RBI double from Keaton Anthony and a sacrifice fly by Gabriel Rincones Jr to take a 2-1 lead. Rochester reclaimed the advantage in the third inning, scoring three runs including a run that crossed home plate on a double play involving Abimelec Ortiz. The Red Wings extended their lead to 6-3 in the seventh inning, a period that featured a stolen home by Tres Barrera on a double steal.
The IronPigs mounted a comeback in the ninth inning against reliever Eddy Yean. Dylan Carlson hit a two-run homer, his fourth of the year, and Rincones Jr added an RBI single to tie the game at 6-6. Trevor Gott recorded the final out to send the contest into extra innings.
