Ravens offence faces blitz pressure in first joint practice with Vikings
Baltimore’s defensive unit dominated key moments, but the offence struggled against Minnesota’s blitz packages, allowing two hurry-up scores during the session.

The Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings concluded their first joint practice with a mixed result for the visiting team. While the session provided opportunities for key players to demonstrate their capabilities, the Ravens’ offence encountered significant difficulties against Minnesota’s defensive schemes.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson highlighted the offensive line with a tightly covered sideline throw to rookie Ja’Kobi Lane. The play offered the young receiver a chance to showcase his strength at the catch point. Jackson also connected with second-year receiver LaJohntay Wester, who found space and turned upfield for additional yardage.
Running back Derrick Henry provided a physical display against the Vikings’ defence. The veteran followed his blocking, powered through traffic, and accelerated into the second level, offering Minnesota an early indication of the challenge Baltimore’s backfield presents.
Defensively, the Ravens controlled much of the practice. Nate Wiggins, who is returning to action after a period of absence, stayed attached to a receiver downfield and recorded a pass breakup. Keondre Jackson also broke up a throw, a play that drew a loud reaction from the Baltimore sideline, which celebrated the interception like a turnover.
Despite these individual successes, the Ravens’ offence struggled to sustain drives against Minnesota’s blitz packages. The Vikings capitalised on these struggles, scoring on two hurry-up possessions during the session.
The practice served as a critical evaluation period for the Ravens, featuring established stars, rising contributors, and young players seeking to secure larger roles before the regular season begins. The mixed outcome underscores the need for offensive adjustments as the team prepares for upcoming fixtures.
