Raptors and Clippers reportedly revive Kawhi Leonard trade
Toronto would send Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick and future draft assets to Los Angeles, but the deal remains subject to league approval.
The Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly re-agreed a trade for Kawhi Leonard after the deal was delayed during an NBA investigation. CBS Sports, citing ESPN, reported that the trade is not yet official and must proceed through a trade call and league processes.
Toronto would send Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, a 2027 pick swap and second-round picks in 2030 and 2033 to Los Angeles.
The agreement follows the NBA’s punishment of the Clippers over alleged salary-cap circumvention involving Leonard. The league determined the Clippers had directed more money to Leonard through endorsements than they were legally allowed to, and stripped the club of five first-round picks from 2029 to 2033.
Leonard is expected to return to Toronto and sign a contract extension, although the terms and completion of that extension remain unknown. He is entering the final year of his current contract and is owed US$50 million in 2026–27.
The 2019 NBA champion previously helped Toronto win its first title. He played 65 games last season, finished seventh in MVP voting and was selected to the All-NBA second team, though his long-term health remains a central concern.
Toronto won 46 games last season and took Cleveland to seven games in the playoffs. The proposed trade would nevertheless remain unconfirmed until the teams complete the required league procedures.
