Rams' Jackson faces domestic violence charge
Los Angeles Police Department confirms arrest; team declines further comment on ongoing legal matter

The Los Angeles Rams have acknowledged the arrest of left tackle Alaric Jackson on a felony domestic violence charge, confirming that the player is currently facing legal proceedings that could impact his standing with the franchise. The Los Angeles Police Department verified the arrest on Monday night, stating that the charge relates to a person who willfully inflicts corporal injury against a spouse.

According to reports from NBC4, the incident occurred when Jackson allegedly attempted to take a phone from a woman he believed was recording him. Investigators noted scratch marks on the woman’s arms during their assessment of the scene. Jackson was booked into custody at 4:24 a.m. local time on Tuesday and was subsequently released on a $50,000 bond at 7:20 a.m., as recorded in jail documents.

In a brief statement, the Rams organisation confirmed they were aware of the incident and emphasised that they take such matters seriously. However, the club declined to provide further details or commentary, citing the ongoing nature of the legal situation. This response aligns with standard protocols for professional sports teams when players are involved in active criminal investigations.

This arrest follows a pattern of conduct issues for Jackson, who served a two-game suspension in August 2024 after the National Football League determined he had violated its personal conduct policy. Additionally, he was involved in a civil lawsuit last year involving allegations of non-consensual recording, which was originally filed in Los Angeles Superior Court before being moved to federal court and ultimately dismissed in April.

The legal proceedings come shortly after Jackson secured a significant financial commitment from the club. In February 2025, the Rams and Jackson agreed to a three-year, $57 million contract extension, underscoring the player’s value on the field despite the off-field controversies now under judicial review.
