Rams face six-week wait for Garrett after knee surgery

Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garrett is expected to miss at least six weeks while recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery, according to a Yahoo Sports report citing NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Garrett is on injured reserve, which requires him to miss at least four games. The reported recovery estimate would keep him out longer than that minimum, and the Rams are expected to take a cautious approach to his return.
He is first eligible to return in Week 6 against the Cardinals. The report says he is also expected to miss games against the Raiders and Chargers, but does not confirm when he will play again.
Garrett played against the 49ers in Week 1 despite knee swelling and said afterwards that he was not fully healthy. The Rams later opted for surgery to address discomfort and swelling.
Garrett joined the Rams from the Cleveland Browns this offseason. Rapoport’s report says Garrett hopes to beat the six-week recovery estimate, but no comeback date has been confirmed.
