Rai credits Bishnoi for PGA Championship success following 2018 meeting
Aaron Rai says his wife Gaurika Bishnoi has been an invaluable support system for his game, including his recent win at the PGA Championship.

Professional golfer Aaron Rai has attributed his recent career achievements, including his victory at the PGA Championship, to the support of his wife, fellow golfer Gaurika Bishnoi. The couple met at the 2018 Hero Indian Open, where Bishnoi, a former No. 1 on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour, initiated contact with Rai’s mother. They married in London in July 2025 and currently reside in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where they train together.
Rai described Bishnoi as an invaluable support system for his technique and mindset, noting that she often outperforms him in practice sessions. The initial connection was made between Bishnoi and Rai’s mother, Dalvir Shukla, while Bishnoi was following her brother, who was volunteering in Rai’s group. Bishnoi stated she was not fan-girl-ing Rai but was out following her brother on the course at her home club.
Following the conclusion of the 2018 round, Rai’s mother asked Bishnoi to wait so she could meet her son. The relationship progressed to marriage in London in July 2025. Rai, 31, won the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club on Sunday, a victory he described as significant but secondary to the personal milestone of meeting his wife.
The couple trains regularly in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Rai is a regular at TPC Sawgrass, where he lives, giving him a slight edge in course familiarity. However, he noted that their on-course play remains close despite his experience with the venue.
Rai highlighted the competitive nature of their practice sessions, which include putting, chipping, and wedge games on TrackMan. He stated that Bishnoi beats him more often than he beats her in these contests, describing her skills as absolutely invaluable to his development as a professional golfer.
