Raducanu and Boulter advance to Queen’s quarter-finals following rain-delayed schedule
Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter have progressed to the last eight of the Queen’s 2026 tournament, with all quarter-final matches rescheduled for Friday due to weather disruptions.

Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter have advanced to the quarter-finals of the Queen’s 2026 tennis tournament, securing their places in the latter stages of the event in London. The results mean both players are set to compete twice in a single day, with the entire quarter-final round postponed to Friday after rain prevented play on Thursday.
Raducanu defeated Romania’s Sorana Cirstea 6-4, 6-2, marking her first victory against a top-20 opponent in over a year. The win serves as redemption for a 6-0, 6-2 defeat to the same player in the Transylvania Open final in February. It also represents her first win on home soil since her opening match victory against Anna Blinkova and her first since Indian Wells in March.
The 23-year-old had been absent from the WTA Tour for more than two months due to a post-viral illness, losing her two return matches in Strasbourg and at the French Open prior to this tournament. Raducanu noted that she felt she played at a "really high level" and needed to "dictate" play, observing that Cirstea began to recover when Raducanu "took [her] foot off the gas a little bit."
Boulter secured her place in the last eight with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Jaqueline Cristian in 67 minutes. The 29-year-old will now face top seed Elena Rybakina. Rybakina, the former Wimbledon champion from Kazakhstan, advanced after defeating defending champion Tatjana Maria 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 6-0 in two hours and 10 minutes.
Raducanu is set to face Kamilla Rakhimova in the quarter-finals. The Russian-born Uzbek player secured her spot by defeating Britain’s Harriet Dart 5-7, 6-1, 7-5 in a match that lasted almost three hours. All four quarter-final matches are now scheduled to be played on Friday.
