The San Francisco 49ers have opened the season without allowing a sack in four consecutive games, a run a Yahoo Sports game review attributes to both the offensive line and quarterback Brock Purdy.

Purdy’s quick processing and release can help him get the ball away before pressure arrives. The review also highlights his ability to escape defenders, a dimension it contrasts with Peyton Manning’s pocket-bound style.

In Sunday’s 24–14 win over the Denver Broncos, Purdy had 10 rushing attempts. Four, according to the review, came as scrambles when the pocket quickly collapsed or a blocker was beaten.

The review describes Purdy evading a blitz and pressure from Nick Bonitto for a five-yard gain, and escaping Sai’vion Jones for seven yards. On a third-quarter touchdown pass to Deebo Samuel, pressure pushed Purdy left before he bought time to make the throw.

Offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak praised the line and called Purdy a “magician” for making defenders miss, while acknowledging “a little bit of luck” in the streak.
