Luis Enrique: Achraf Hakimi fit to play for PSG in Champions League final against Arsenal
Fullback recovers from thigh injury sustained in semi-final against Bayern Munich

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has confirmed that fullback Achraf Hakimi is fit to face Arsenal in the Champions League final on Saturday at the Puskas Arena in Budapest. The announcement resolves uncertainty surrounding Hakimi’s availability after he missed the second leg of the semi-final against Bayern Munich due to a muscular injury sustained during the first leg.

Hakimi, who provided one assist in PSG’s 5-4 victory in Paris, suffered muscular fatigue in his right thigh in the final minutes of that match. The injury forced him to miss the remaining four Ligue 1 games of the season and the return leg in Munich. Enrique noted that the expectation was for Hakimi to recover in time for the European final and to be ready for Morocco’s campaign at the 2026 World Cup.

The PSG manager also confirmed that teammates Nuno Mendes and Ousmane Dembele are fit and expected to feature in the final. Enrique stated simply that the players are fine and able to play, providing a clear squad update ahead of the decisive match.

Enrique used the pre-match press conference to acknowledge the achievements of his counterpart, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. He praised the Gunners as the worthy Premier League champions, noting that Arteta has managed the squad for six and a half years and knows the team inside out. Enrique described the Champions League as the ultimate motivation for Arteta’s side, who are seeking their first European title 20 years after their previous final appearance against Barcelona.

Both clubs enter the final as domestic league winners, with Arsenal securing the Premier League title following Manchester City’s defeat to Bournemouth. PSG aims to retain their European crown, while Hakimi’s availability adds a key dimension to their attack as they prepare to face a motivated Arsenal side coached by Mohamed Ouahbi at the World Cup.
