Prime Video rolls out AI lip-syncing for dubbed Maxton Hall episodes

Amazon Prime Video is introducing an AI-powered lip-syncing feature that alters visible mouth movements to match translated, human-dubbed dialogue.
The technology is currently available globally to subscribers watching the English dub of German series Maxton Hall, covering its first and second seasons. It does not mean actors re-recorded their performances in another language.
Prime Video says the feature combines artificial intelligence with visual effects to make actors’ lip movements align more closely with dubbed speech. The company plans to extend the technology to additional titles.
The feature is expected to accompany Maxton Hall’s third season, which is scheduled for release on 9 December. The source does not specify the year or an exact launch date for the lip-syncing system.
Prime Video previously tested AI-assisted English and Spanish dubbing across 12 films and television shows. Meta and YouTube have also introduced AI dubbing tools for creators, including optional lip-syncing functions, The Verge reported.
