Prime Day day two: Apple, Sony and robot vacuums among top deals as Amazon event enters second phase
The Verge’s latest roundup highlights significant discounts on Apple’s M5 MacBook Air, Sony headphones, and high-end robot vacuums, with prices often matching major US competitors.
Amazon has entered the second day of its four-day Prime Day event, with many of the best discounts from day one remaining available alongside new offers. The Verge has compiled a list of recommended deals on consumer electronics, including Apple MacBook Air and AirPods, Sony and Bose headphones, robot vacuums from Roborock and Eufy, and televisions from LG and Samsung. The guide also covers smart home devices, gaming consoles, and other gadgets, noting that some prices match those at retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, and Target.
The 2026 MacBook Air, equipped with the M5 chip, is listed at $950, representing a $150 discount from its retail price. While the external chassis remains unchanged from the 2022 model, the internal upgrades include enhanced graphics performance and support for up to two external monitors. WIRED notes that despite rising laptop prices in 2026, the MacBook Air has maintained competitive pricing relative to its competitors. Other notable inclusions in the WIRED roundup include the Asus Chromebook CX15, priced under $300, and the Surface Pro 8th Edition, utilising Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X chips.
Sony’s latest flagship headphones feature improved comfort, better noise cancellation, and the ability to charge while in use. They even fold down for travel, which can’t be said about the last-gen XM5. We haven’t previously seen this set of over-ear headphones sell below $479, so this price drop is staggering. The second-gen QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds have dynamic, rich sound and the best noise cancellation currently available in a pair of true wireless earbuds. They’re a terrific pick if you want to listen to your music in peace.

Samsung’s S90F is a premium OLED TV with a 120Hz panel, four HDMI 2.1 ports, and access to game streaming services like Nvidia’s GeForce Now via Samsung’s Gaming Hub. The QM8K delivers TCL’s best performance for the price in its 2025 TV lineup, and it still competes with 2026 TVs.
