Pride Of Arras wins September Stakes as Constitution Hill finishes fourth
Pride Of Arras defeated odds-on favourite Gethin by one length at Kempton Park, while Constitution Hill suffered his first defeat on the Flat.
Pride Of Arras won the Group Three William Hill September Stakes at Kempton Park, beating odds-on favourite Gethin by one length.
The result was a setback for Constitution Hill, who finished fourth on his third Flat appearance. Sky Sports reported the performance as his first defeat on the Flat.
The former champion hurdler, trained by Nicky Henderson, had previously won Flat races at Southwell and Kempton. The September Stakes represented a significant step up in class from those victories.
Gethin took an early lead in the mile-and-a-half contest, while Constitution Hill raced close behind. Pride Of Arras moved to the front and held off Gethin’s late challenge.
Pride Of Arras, trained by Ralph Beckett, had previously won the 2025 Dante Stakes.
