Polaroid and Pokémon launch 30th-anniversary instant camera collection
Polaroid has announced a limited-edition hardware lineup featuring Pikachu, Sylveon, and Pokéball-themed designs to mark three decades of the Pokémon franchise.

Polaroid has partnered with The Pokémon Company to release a special collection of instant cameras, film, and accessories celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. The announcement, made via Engadget, details a lineup that includes updated versions of the company’s existing hardware, specifically the Polaroid Go and Polaroid Now series, reimagined with character-specific aesthetics.
The collection comprises three primary camera models. The Polaroid Go Camera Generation 3 is available in two distinct editions: a Pikachu version featuring a yellow body and a strap shaped like the character’s tail, and a Sylveon edition with a white and pink body and a multi-coloured strap inspired by the Eevee evolution’s ribbons. Both Go models are designed to be compact and ultra-portable, retaining the form factor of the original while incorporating hardware upgrades such as a stronger flash and a more zoomed-in lens.
For users seeking a larger format, the Polaroid Now Camera Generation 3 – Pokémon Edition offers a full-sized instant film experience. This model features a red, white, and black colour scheme mimicking a Pokéball, complete with a matching shutter button. The third-generation Now camera includes improved ranging sensors for its two-lens auto-focus system and a repositioned light meter, which Polaroid states leads to more optimised exposures.
Beyond the cameras, the collaboration extends to consumables and accessories. Polaroid is releasing Polaroid Go Film with frames featuring Pikachu and Sylveon, as well as Polaroid Color i-Type film with frames showcasing a wider variety of characters, including Togepi, Mew, and Snorlax. Additional items include a Pokéball-shaped Polaroid Go case, a themed photo album, and a camera strap. The dark slides from these films also feature Pokémon imagery, and Polaroid is establishing a web portal to allow users to track their collected slides.
Pricing for the collection is set at $100 for both Polaroid Go editions and $140 for the Polaroid Now edition. Film options are priced at $25 for double packs of the Polaroid Go Color Film and $23 for the Polaroid Color i-Type Film. While the source does not explicitly define the currency, the figures align with standard US pricing structures for the brand.
Preorders for the cameras, film, and accessories open on 25 August 2026, with a general release date scheduled for 5 October 2026. The products will be available directly from Polaroid and the Pokémon Center.
