The New Orleans Pelicans beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 116–110 in Oklahoma City’s 2026–27 NBA preseason opener on Tuesday, after the Thunder had built a 24-point lead, Yahoo Sports reported.

The source’s account says Oklahoma City began strongly with its B squad before largely withdrawing it at half-time. It does not establish that this decision alone led to the defeat.

Aday Mara finished with 12 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Bennett Stirtz recorded 15 points and six assists, while Jared McCain added 12 points and five assists.

For New Orleans, Bennedict Mathurin scored 13 points off the bench. Zion Williamson and Trey Murphy III each had 11 points, and Derek Queen posted 10 points and nine rebounds.

Yahoo Sports’ OKC Thunder Wire coverage was presented as a photo collection from the game. The report did not provide an exact calendar date for Tuesday’s match.
