Oregon survives Boise State in 34-27 season-opening win
Dante Moore threw three touchdown passes as No. 2 Oregon recovered from a slow start to defeat Boise State in Eugene.
No. 2 Oregon defeated Boise State 34-27 in both teams’ season opener on Saturday, overcoming a 27-27 tie in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Dante Moore threw for 388 yards and three touchdowns for Oregon, which stayed level with Boise State before Dakorien Moore’s 62-yard touchdown reception gave the Ducks the lead for good with 7:51 remaining.
Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns. The Broncos took a 17-14 lead into half-time after scoring on their opening series and extending their advantage following a muffed punt.
The result extended Oregon’s season-opening winning streak at Autzen Stadium to 16 games and its home winning streak against non-conference opponents to 39, according to ESPN.
Dante Moore returned after throwing for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns during Oregon’s 13-2 campaign last season. Boise State entered the game after a 9-5 season in the Mountain West and had been a 24½-point underdog, ESPN reported.
Oregon had also defeated Boise State 37-34 in their previous meeting in 2024.
