One Nation-linked company bought $56,706 shed on James Ashby property
Documents reported by The Guardian show Small Batch Brewing, jointly owned by James Ashby, Pauline Hanson and Alexander Jones, purchased the shed near Yeppoon.
A company linked to One Nation purchased a $56,706 shed built on national director James Ashby’s private property near Yeppoon, Queensland, according to council and engineering documents reported by The Guardian.
Small Batch Brewing Pty Ltd is listed as the purchaser in a development application lodged with Livingstone Shire. The company is jointly owned by Ashby, One Nation leader Pauline Hanson and the party’s national treasurer, Alexander Jones.
Small Batch Brewing has been described as a craft-brewing venture but reportedly holds neither a liquor licence nor an excise licence. Ashby told The Guardian the company was “currently a non-trading entity” and would apply for the necessary approvals when appropriate.
Ashby bought the lifestyle property in 2025 and has received council approval for a house and in-ground pool. He regularly conducts live television crosses from the shed. The documents do not establish how the company financed or otherwise acquired the building.
The Guardian also reported that Ashby drives a Ford Ranger gifted to One Nation by Hancock Agriculture chief executive Adam Giles and is the main pilot of a $2m Cirrus aircraft donated to the party by Gina Rinehart through her employer. Ashby said the vehicle was used for campaign and branch purposes, while the aircraft was not used for personal transport. He said he would not run for One Nation at the next federal election.
