Morgan Rogers reportedly put Chelsea ahead after 77 seconds before Kai Havertz equalised against his former club in the first half. Ødegaard completed the comeback in the 50th minute.
The result highlighted a more attacking performance from Ødegaard, who was also involved in creating chances for his team-mates. Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka were also singled out for their contributions.
CBS Sports reported that Ødegaard’s early-season numbers include more touches in the attacking penalty area, more shots from promising positions and a rise in expected goals compared with last season. Those figures are drawn from a small sample and do not yet establish a sustained change.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta linked the midfielder’s form to improved fitness, confidence, enjoyment and a desire to respond to the difficulties of last season. The victory maintained Arsenal’s perfect three-match start to the Premier League season.
