No Dogs in Space returns with Punk 2.0 and a New York Dolls deep dive
Carolina Hidalgo and Marcus Parks are bringing the music history podcast back to punk, with full video episodes planned for YouTube.
No Dogs in Space has returned for its fourth season, Punk 2.0, with hosts Carolina Hidalgo and Marcus Parks returning to the punk music history that first established the show.
The opening episode begins a series on the New York Dolls, the protopunk and glam act associated with the development of New York’s music scene. The Verge reported that the episode premiered this week.
The hosts said the season followed several abandoned or expanded plans, including a series on Washington, DC’s punk scene. After more than six months of work, the project grew to encompass acts and institutions beyond the scene’s original boundaries and was ultimately dropped after about eight months.
That work produced a planned two-part series on Link Wray, which is expected later this year. The hosts also continue the show’s established habit of following tangents into related artists and music scenes.
Punk 2.0 is available through podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts and Spotify. For the first time, full video episodes will also be released on YouTube.
