Air Zoom Hyperslide features magnetic pods with heat and vibration therapy

Nike and Hyperice have announced the release of the Air Zoom Hyperslide, a pair of recovery slides designed to assist users in relaxing and recovering after physical activity. The product marks the second joint venture between the two companies, following their previous collaboration on the Hyperboot, a high-top shoe equipped with air-compression massage and heating capabilities.

The Air Zoom Hyperslide is priced at $249 and will be available from 29 September. Distribution channels include the official websites of Nike and Hyperice, as well as US retailers Best Buy and Dick's Sporting Goods. Hyperice has confirmed that the product is eligible for purchase using Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) funds.

The technology driving the recovery claims is housed in magnetic Hyperslide Pods that attach to the slides. These pods offer three heat levels, ranging from 42.8°C to 47.2°C, and three vibration settings. Users can control these functions via the Hyperice app through Bluetooth connectivity or through physical buttons on the pods themselves. Indicator lights on the device display the status of the heat, vibration, and battery levels.

Regarding power, the pods provide approximately one hour of battery life per charge, depending on usage. This duration allows for roughly six 10-minute recovery sessions before requiring a recharge via an onboard USB-C port. The footwear itself features a low-profile Nike Air Zoom sole with a textured, cushioned footbed and is available in black or a light tan shade referred to as Orewood.

The slides are offered in 15 sizes, spanning from M4/W5 to M18/W19 in the US market, with corresponding sizing in the UK and EU. While the marketing material suggests the heat and vibration help feet relax and recover, the specific efficacy of these features relies on consumer experience rather than independently verified clinical data presented in the source material.
